Clear communication, curiosity, and empathy can many times prevent situations from escalating with parents, but not always. What do you do when a parent calls, emails, or shows up and is very upset? In this session participants will learn how to de-escalate heated situations by looking for common ground and listening to understand the parent's concerns. Leave with practical strategies for shared problem solving as well as resources to pre-emptively manage academic and behavior issues. This session will have an elementary focus.
